Oil on panel, first half of the 16th century.
The work was studied by G. Quintavalle after the restoration in 1959 and has a good bibliography. Rightly placed within the context of Modenese painting of the early 16th century, recently, Alfonso Garuti has linked it to the frescoes of the local oratory of San Rocco that Saccaccino painted in 1535. With its strong chiaroscuro, bright colors, and solemn architecture of the background, it can be considered as the work of this artist.
